Newsletters

I have written newsletters for many years, some of them print products. Currently, I write a newsletter for a Home Owners Association that has a number of communications challenges. By regularly communicating rules, updates, and news, misunderstandings are averted and time is saved. For six years, I wrote the Oregon Conservation Newsletter, a monthly online publication about the challenges that face the state’s fish and wildlife and the people who are working on solutions. Its reach and popularity are a testament to the power of personal story. Many of the stories were covered by the print and TV media. Samples available on request.

Public Relations, News Releases

The challenge–and the opportunity–in writing a news release is to interest the media in telling your story to their audience. The following received a lot of coverage.

What the Cat said to Alice

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” asked Alice.

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.

Which is why I am always interested in where you’re going and what you need to accomplish with your stories, news releases, marketing materials, social media posts, and web content. Because, if we don’t know where we are going, we could take a lot of wrong turns along the way. And we don’t want that.
